Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo is a 70-bed specialty
hospital devoted to providing comprehensive medical
rehabilitation services. Opened in 1989 and centrally located
in Pinellas County, just minutes from Clearwater, St.
Petersburg, Seminole and the Gulf Beaches, HealthSouth of
Largo is licensed by the State of Florida, and accredited by
The Joint Commission. Our mission is to help our patients to
live their lives to the fullest extent of their abilities.
HealthSouth of Largo is the only freestanding rehabilitation
hospital in the Tampa Bay Region, and serves patients of all
ages and varied medical diagnoses, including Stroke, Hip
Fracture, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputations,
Neurological, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Cancer, Orthopedic and many
other medical conditions. Both inpatient and outpatient
services are available. HealthSouth provides a higher level of
care than nursing-home based rehabilitation centers, with
daily physician rounds, licensed nurses caring for each
patient 24 hours a day, and three hours of daily therapy
provided to all patients.
An interdisciplinary team, along with the patient and family,
develops a specialized treatment plan to help each patient
meet their individual goals. Our team members include board
certified physiatrists, physical therapists, occupational
therapists, speech and language pathologists, certified
rehabilitation nurses, respiratory therapists, psychologists,
case managers, pharmacists and dietitians, as well as more
than 100 physicians and allied health care professionals
representing numerous areas of medical specialization.
